What We Do

Supporting our school community

Largs Public School P&C works with families, school representatives and community supporters to help create positive experiences and opportunities for students.

Our activities change over time according to the needs of the school, the priorities agreed by members and the capacity of our volunteers.

Fundraising

We organise and support fundraising activities that contribute to projects, resources and opportunities for students.

Fundraising may support areas such as:

• learning resources and equipment;
• improvements to school facilities and outdoor spaces;
• student activities and community events;
• projects identified in consultation with the school community.

We aim to keep families informed about what funds are being raised for and how they are used.

Events and community activities

P&C events help bring families, staff and community members together.

These may include social events, fundraising activities, information sessions, celebrations and other opportunities for families to connect with the school community.

Events are made possible by volunteers, local supporters and the many people who contribute their time, skills or resources.

Projects and practical support

The P&C can help plan, fund and coordinate projects that provide a clear benefit to students and the wider school community.

This may involve:

• identifying a need or opportunity;
• working with the school to understand requirements;
• developing a practical proposal and budget;
• seeking funding, sponsorship or volunteer support;
• keeping the community informed about progress and outcomes.

Giving families a voice

P&C meetings provide a place for members to hear updates, discuss ideas and contribute to decisions about P&C activities.

The association encourages respectful discussion and practical cooperation between families, the school and the wider community.

Volunteering

Volunteers are central to everything the P&C does.

People can contribute in many different ways, from helping at a single event to joining a project team, attending meetings, approaching sponsors or sharing professional and practical skills.

There is no single way to be involved, and every contribution is valued.

Working with local supporters

We welcome partnerships with local businesses, organisations and community members who want to support the school.

Sponsorship, donations, services and in-kind assistance can all help the P&C deliver stronger outcomes while building connections across the local community.
